The partnership between the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and INOCAS resulted in the approval of a project in the Call for Proposals for the Bioeconomy Production Chains Program. This public selection, conducted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep), aims to boost innovative initiatives related to the promotion of Bioeconomy Production Chains in Brazilian Biomes.

In addition to INOCAS and UFRJ, the project “Valorization of the macauba and coffee production chains using the biorefinery concept” involves the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rondônia (IFRO), Cacoal Campus and LaCoop Brasil – Amazon Family Farmers’ Cooperative. Of all the projects approved, this was the one with the highest value in terms of financial resources, with more than R$3 million.
